El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the US Forest System. El Portal Visitor’s Center recently re-opened; the exhibits are informative and they also have short trails. Don’t forget to stop by and visit the Puerto Rican Parrot before heading up to one of the trails. If you wish to visit the trails you will need to secure a reservation at: https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/facility/300017
